The ‘jovial’ founder of an Aylesbury dairy has died.

Ron Miller, of Aston Clinton, set up Ron Miller Dairies in April 1961 and ran it until 1999.

Mr Miller, who was in his late 70s, died early this morning (Wednesday).

He was one of the founding members of the Game Club, which organises the Chiltern Hills Vintage Vehicle Rally.

A flag enthusiast, every day for the past 27 years he raised a flag at his Aylesbury Road home to mark an event somewhere in the world.

Aylesbury Rugby Club, which often used Mr Miller’s land when holding fireworks displays and festivals, said he would be ‘sorely missed’.

The club said in a statement: “It is with great sadness that we have learned of the sudden death of Ron Miller early this morning.

“Ron has been a great friend and supporter of us at Aylesbury Rugby Club.

“He was a close farming neighbour and we have used his fields for parking on many occasions over the years.

“Without his support these events would not have been able to run.

“Ron was also a regular visitor to the clubhouse.

“His jovial personality and quick witted sense of humour was obvious to anyone that knew him.

“He will be sorely missed and the club extends their condolences to his wife and family.”
