A man arrested in connection with a sexual assault on an 11-year-old boy in Wendover has been released on bail.
The 43 year old, who lives in the Bicester area, was arrested on Monday.
Today he was bailed until January 7.
The boy was walking in Bacombe Lane, close to a bridleway, at about 4.40pm on Friday when a man approached and spoke to him before sexually assaulting him.
Aylesbury Vale commander, Supt Olly Wright, said: “Officers have been conducting extra patrols in the area and have been visible to provide reassurance in local schools since the incident.
“The patrols are planning to continue throughout the week in Wendover.
“I would like to reassure the community once again that incidents of this nature are extremely rare and I would like to thank them for their assistance and understanding while officers have been making enquiries.”
Anyone with information about the incident should call police on 101 and ask to speak to Det Sgt Kerry Bradfield.
