A former work colleague has paid tribute to Joyce Towersey, who died in a car crash on the main road between Oxford and Thame last month.
Mrs Towersey, 81, from Bedgrove, who worked as PA to the chief executive at Aylesbury Vale District Council during the 1970s and 80s, was killed after the car she was travelling in went into a ditch.
Council PR chief Teresa Lane said: “Joyce was a lovely lady and I have very fond memories of working with her.
“We both worked for Bernard Quoroll, the then Chief Executive.
“Bernard had a razor sharp mind and worked at a furious pace and expected everyone else to so the same.
“Joyce had a lovely way of dealing with the pressure which usually involved a big smile and making a cup of tea.
“Our thoughts are with Tom, her husband, and her family at this difficult time.”
An inquest into Mrs Towersey’s death is due to be held on Tuesday March 25.
