A loving sister who is desperate to help her sibling who suffers from a rare condition is continuing her charity drive.
Kate Couchman, who is originally from South Africa moved to Aylesbury to work as a doctor.
But after the move she was devastated to learn that her sister Megan, who suffers from the condition myasthenia gravis, was back in hospital after a relapse.
Feeling that she needed to help in any way possible, Kate set herself gruelling challenges, including scaling Snowdonia next weekend to show solidarity with her sister.
And on June 7 Kate will host a 70s and 80s disco at the Aylesbury Ex Service Club to raise money for the Myasthenia Gravis Association.
She said: “My sister is having regular check ups with her neurologist and is currently on 20 drugs a day.
“She used to take only four just three months ago but that’s the nature of the illness.
“It has also been confirmed that she won’t be able to have children of her own and she’s devastated.”
She added: “It’s difficult being so far away from her as she deals with such big obstacles, but it’s made me even more determined to raise as much money as I can, in order to try to aid research so that sufferers lives can improve - even if only slightly.”
Tickets for the disco event, which includes karaoke costs £10.
