A 27-year-old man has been convicted of rape and sexual assault relating to three young women, including one victim as young as 16.

Craig Hughes, formerly of Fuggle Drive, Aylesbury, was found guilty by jury of four counts of sexual assault and one count of rape.

The offences relate to the sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl at Ivinghoe Beacon in March 2011, the sexual assault and rape of a woman in Aylesbury in February 2012 and two counts of sexual assault on a woman in August 2012.

Investigating officer, Det Con Stephanie Macleod, said: “The conviction of this offender is a testament to the courage of the three young women who came forward and told the court what happened to them.

“I hope that this conviction encourages victims of sexual offences to come forward and report them to police, knowing that they will be investigated and brought to justice.”

Hughes has been remanded in custody for sentencing at a date to be determined by the court.
