He thenheld a roundtable discussion with business leaders.

Richard Harrington, chief executive of the Bucks and Thames Valley LEP said: “We wanted Lord de Mauley to realise that Bucks is a great place both to live and to start a business.

“We talked about the benefits that come from environmental partnerships and businesses working together.”

Sir Henry Aubrey Fletcher, chairman of the NEP and Lord Lieutenant of Bucks added: “The close partnership of environment and enterprise is essential to the success of our work.

“The quality of our natural environment in Bucks is why people want to work, live and recreate in this region.

“It is a contributing factor to why businesses want to invest here.

“It is an asset that needs to be better managed in order to continue to protect its rich biodiversity, and to support the development of our economy and the health and wellbeing of our communities.”
