THE voices of children at Tetsworth Primary School were heard all across the county as they performed live on the radio.

As part of a national world record attempt, the 21 pupils, along with five from the pre-school, performed live on BBC Radio Oxford on Wednesday morning.

They then took part in a sign and sing session at 2.45pm along with hundreds of other schools up and down the country.

Head of teaching and learning at the school, Alison Charlton, said: “They all loved it, especially as they heard themselves back on the radio.

“They love to sing and were really excited about it, but that just increased when they heard about their media attention – they felt they were famous for the day.”

Some of the children were interviewed live on air and as part of the day, they all heard their performance using the BBC iPlayer.

The event was run in order to raise money for SignHealth, a charity which supports those with hearing problems.

The children also learnt how the money raised would be spent to help those who cannot hear.
