Figureheads from a Bucks charity which helps criminals get on the straight and narrow were greeted by David Cameron at Chequers.

Guests from the Thames Valley Partnership and New Leaf were treated to a rare viewing of the PM’s official countryside retreat, which was offered by Mr and Mrs Cameron to help support and highlight the work of the charity.

Musical entertainment was provided by students at Aylesbury Music Centre.

The Partnership is an established charity with nearly 20 years’ experience of working to tackle complex social problems, essentially within the Thames Valley but increasingly gaining national recognition.

Projects include support networks for victims of domestic abuse, a restorative justice service and the New Leaf programme which helps short-term ex-offenders resettle in their community and reduce re-offending.

It currently serves Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire and is about to begin services in Berkshire.
