WORK on Aston Clinton’s controversial Arla site is set to start in December after the dairy giant was given a final thumbs up.
The Danish firm has signed a legal planning agreement with Aylesbury Vale District Council, paving the way for the dairy, distribution centre and an associated business park to go ahead.
A bid to build the facility, which backers say will create 700 new jobs, was backed unanimously by the council’s strategic development control committee, subject to planning negotiations.
Last week the council announced the talks have successfully concluded.
Deputy leader Councillor Michael Edmonds, said the plant would be a ‘huge boost’ to the Vale’s economy, and praised the planning team.
